This tour will show you the beauty of Salento’s Eastern Coast. Among the places you will visit are some megalithic archelogical sites (with dolmen and menhir), the lake “Laghetto di Bauxite”, the town Santa Maria di Leuca with its beautiful surrounding landscape full of olive trees and fruit trees. You will enjoy the beauty of Puglia’s sea and visit some caves. A real highlight will be the visit of a botanic garden.

Accommodation: You won’t have to move from hotel to hotel, but you can enjoy your stay in one beautiful masseria hotel near Otranto.

Day 1

After your arrival at the airport of Brindisi, a private transfer will take you to a chic hotel, a refurbished Puglian farmhouse called masseria. It is located near Otranto. Depending on your time of arrival, you could visit the megalithic dolmen and menhir with your tour guide. Then you can relax in the masseria before you will have dinner there and spend the night in the masseria hotel.

Day 2

After breakfast you will visit a former bauxite mine near Otranto and the colourful lake “Laghetto di Bauxite”. Your next stop will be at Punta Palascia, at the easternmost point of Puglia, where you can admire the Saracene tower that was built to protect Puglians against attacks from the sea. There was a danger from pirates and Turkish invaders. Then you will go on to visit Porto Badisco, where the nature is also wonderful and there is a beautiful cave, the Grotta dei Cervi, where art from the Neolithic period was found. Then you will visit the Cave Grotta della Zinzulusa at Castro. Afterwards it is time for refreshments. We would be happy to recommend a restaurant for you. In the afternoon you will have some free time to relax or you could book a boat trip or use the time to go swimming. You will then visit the picturesque Fiordo del Ciolo, from where you will have an incredible view of the coast and then you go on to the Canale del Rio. The century old trees  (such as the oak tree quercia Vallonea) are worth seeing. One of the oldest trees of Puglia is the one called “Cento Cavalieri” (the Oak Tree of One Hundred Knights). After some time for refreshments your afternoon could be dedicated to a visit of the gardens of the Castello Winspeare. We can also recommend a visit of a winemaker in the neighbourhood, where you can taste Puglian wine and olive oil. Then you will visit the “Giardino botanico della Cutura”, where you can admire mediterranean and Puglian plants and a beautiful rose garden.  A private transfer will take you back to the masseria hotel, where you will have dinner and spend the night.
